The short answer
If you need a sign or banner fast in Tampa Bay, 83 of the 236 sign companies in our directory (35%) advertise rush or same-day work on their own website. Weekends are harder. Of the 216 companies that post hours on Google, only 53 are open Saturday (25%) and 26 are open Sunday (12%). The other 163 keep weekday hours only.
Seventeen of the 53 Saturday openings are FedEx Office and Staples print centers. They're good for a banner or poster in a hurry, but none of them advertises installation. If you need a sign shop that designs, builds and installs, 36 independent shops are open Saturday, and 10 of them also advertise rush orders.
When Tampa Bay sign shops are open
Most sign companies keep office hours. The most common Monday schedule is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (62 companies), then 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (30). Fifty-seven stay open until 6 p.m. or later on at least one weekday, and 13 open by 7:30 a.m.
Saturday is a short day for many independent shops. Eight of the 36 independents open Saturday close by 2 p.m., and several keep morning-only hours like 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The print chains run longer, usually 9 or 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Twelve of the 17 FedEx Office and Staples locations are also open Sunday.
What you need decides where you go:
- Banners and large-format print: 145 independent shops that offer it post hours, and 23 of them are open Saturday. The 17 print-chain locations add to that.
- Vehicle wraps: 29 of the 128 independent wrap shops with hours are open Saturday, the best weekend coverage of any service.
- Storefront signs and channel letters: 13 of 87 are open Saturday. Monument and pylon signs: 7 of 64.
The bigger the sign, the more likely you're dealing with a weekday-only shop. That makes sense: a storefront sign or a pylon needs a permit, fabrication and an install crew, and none of that happens over a weekend anyway.
Saturday hours and rush orders by area
The table shows the 12 areas with the most sign companies. "With hours" counts companies that post hours on Google; the Saturday and Sunday columns are out of that group. "Rush orders" and "Installs" come from each company's own website.
| Area | Companies listed | With hours | Open Saturday | Open Sunday | Rush orders | Installs |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tampa | 61 | 55 | 13 | 6 | 25 | 38 |
| St. Petersburg | 26 | 25 | 4 | 2 | 10 | 21 |
| Bradenton | 17 | 16 | 5 | 1 | 5 | 13 |
| Lakeland | 15 | 13 | 3 | 2 | 4 | 10 |
| Winter Haven | 14 | 11 | 1 | 1 | 5 | 9 |
| Clearwater | 12 | 12 | 4 | 3 | 3 | 7 |
| Largo | 12 | 10 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 10 |
| New Port Richey | 10 | 10 | 3 | 1 | 6 | 8 |
| Brandon | 8 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 4 |
| Tarpon Springs | 6 | 6 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 5 |
| Apollo Beach | 5 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 1 | 3 |
| Brooksville | 5 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 4 |
Tampa has the most choice: 25 companies advertise rush work and 13 open Saturday. St. Petersburg has 25 companies with posted hours, but only 4 open Saturday. Apollo Beach is small but weekend-friendly, with 4 of its 5 companies open Saturday. None of the 5 in Brooksville is. Every other area is on the Tampa Bay page.
Independent shops open Saturday that advertise rush orders

What "fast" can and can't cover
Rush work is most common for simple print jobs. 75 of the 173 companies that make banners and large-format prints advertise rush orders (43%). It's 35 of 94 for storefront signs and channel letters (37%), and 17 of 67 for monument and pylon signs (25%).
The slow part of a permanent sign usually isn't the shop. Only 34 of the 94 storefront and channel-letter companies (36%) say they handle permits, and a new exterior sign generally needs one before it goes up. Our guide to sign permits in Florida explains what to expect. If you're on a deadline:
- Put up a banner while the permanent sign is made. It's the fastest thing most shops can turn around, and both print chains and sign shops make them.
- Ask who pulls the permit. Seventeen companies advertise rush orders, installation and permit handling together.
- Get the quote in writing. 54 companies advertise free quotes, and 21 of them also take rush jobs.

How we counted
We used the 236 Tampa Bay sign companies in the Signage Finder directory, each checked against its own website on November 6, 2026. Hours come from each company's Google Business Profile, and 216 of the 236 list them; every hours figure above is out of those 216, or out of the 199 independent companies where we say "independent". A company counts as open on a day if it lists any hours that day. "Print chains" means the 17 FedEx Office and Staples locations; every other company counts as independent. Rush orders, installation, permit handling, free quotes and the services each company offers come from the company's own website, and we count them only when the site says so. Hours change, so call ahead.
